Travel Guides & Stories
We travel. We pay attention. We share what we learn.
Planet Earth Explorers is our husband-and-wife travel project. These guides are built from places we have actually visited — combining practical travel information with firsthand experiences, cultural context, wildlife, conservation, and the details we wish we had known before we arrived.
Whether you're planning your own trip or simply curious about a place, this is where we share what we saw, what we learned, and what we would do differently.

Planning a gorilla trek in Rwanda? Our full travel video follows our experience from Kigali to Musanze and Volcanoes National Park, home to Rwanda's mountain gorillas.
We share what the experience was actually like, including the gorilla trekking permit and check-in process, renting gaiters, hiring a porter, being organized into trekking groups, how trackers locate the gorilla families, hiking through the forest, and the rules visitors follow once the gorillas are found.
Our trek eventually led us to Izuwa's family, where we spent our permitted hour watching the silverback, mothers and babies in the wild.
If you're researching gorilla trekking in Rwanda or wondering what happens on a Volcanoes National Park gorilla trek, this video takes you through the experience from preparation to the encounter.
